That’s why we are proud to back Queensland endurance athlete Brooke Staff as she embarks on one of Australia’s most challenging ultra-marathons: the Bravehearts 777 Marathon.

This grueling event will see Brooke run seven marathons in seven days across seven states, all to raise awareness and funds for Bravehearts, an organisation dedicated to protecting children from sexual abuse. Her journey is one of strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference.

More Than a Marathon: A Mission to Protect Children

For Brooke, this challenge is deeply personal. With professional experience in child protection and domestic violence sectors—and personal connections to survivors—she understands the long-lasting impact of trauma.

“Endurance marathons can be gruelling and tough,” Brooke shares. “I know from both professional and personal circles—I have family members directly impacted by child sexual abuse—that the trauma sits with people far longer than what I will endure running this marathon.”

Her participation in the Bravehearts 777 Marathon is not just a physical challenge—it’s a symbol of strength for survivors and a commitment to ensuring a safer future for children.

Brooke’s Journey of Transformation

Brooke’s story is one of resilience and self-discovery. From overcoming personal struggles—including a 45kg weight loss journey sparked by her husband’s health challenges—she found a passion for running that has since become a driving force in her life.

"The journey till now has been about me and finding me," Brooke reflects. Now, she’s channelling that same determination into making a difference through the Bravehearts cause.

When we learned about Brooke’s journey, we knew we had to get involved.

Beyond providing high-performance training and race gear, we wanted to do more. "When Marcus saw my sponsorship email, he responded with an idea that left me in tears," Brooke recalls. "He said, ‘We will provide your gear, and we’ll also create a portal where you can sell your own merch, with all proceeds going to Bravehearts.’ The generosity of people who don’t even know me has been overwhelming."

A Team Effort
